Position Overview:   

We are seeking a results-driven, innovative and passionate leader to serve in the role of Inventory Manager for Brilliant Earth within our Operations team. Our Operations team is dedicated to delivering excellence from the time a customer places an order to the moment a customer opens their package. You will be responsible for overseeing activities at our Brilliant Earth locations as well as our manufacturing partners. As an Inventory Manager, you will be responsible for meeting deadlines, accuracy in our systems, executing processes and continuously implementing impactful improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs. You will collaborate with external partners, manage an internal team and partner with every department within the company. The primary objectives of this position are to maximize efficiency, while delivering highly accurate information, both of which are critical to Brilliant Earth’s success.

What you’ll do:   

  • Identify opportunities to build and continuously improve upon best practices, with a focus on process and system automation, cost effectiveness, quality, efficiency and accuracy.    
  • Define and execute a plan to implement improvements, including training internal teams and external partners.   
  • Manage and guide day to day team performance, empowering the team and facilitating problem-solving.    
  • Manage and guide professional development of team, including continued training opportunities and education of key inventory metrics.   
  • Coordinate and allocate tasks and resources to ensure general operations run smoothly.   
  • Recruit, hire and grow team over time to meet company objectives.    

Specific qualifications include:   

  • 4+ years operations experience, including 2+ years directly managing a cross-functional operations team in a physical product, retail or ecommerce company.    
  • Knowledge of and experience working with an ERP system (NetSuite preferred).   
  • Intermediate excel skills (regular use of lookups, pivot tables and other functions to assist in regular inventory analysis).    
  • Quantitative mindset 
  • Understanding of materiality from a business and accounting perspective to drive good decision making in developing processes.   
  • Experience defining and reporting on key performance metrics 
  • Highly organized and attentive to details, with focus on execution, critical thinking / problem solving, and improving processes.   
  • Exceptional time management skills and accountability, with the ability to adapt quickly in a flexible environment.   
  • Team player with an ability to work collaboratively.   
  • Interest in socially and environmentally responsible organizations and products.
