About the job:

The Technical Program Manager will drive operational readiness for key Symphony program initiatives. S/he will work closely across the Symphony program with the internal teams including Product, Client Success, Business Development and Marketing, as well as technology vendors to lead cross-functional planning and enable successful delivery and implementation with health plan and provider clients.

Core Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish, drive & manage scope, requirements, timeline, deliverables, and operational readiness for the roll-out of complex multidisciplinary projects involving cross-functional teams and/or broad client impact
  • Coordinate with all functional areas to proactively identify risks, impacts and dependencies to ensure operational readiness of new features, enhancements or business/technical processes
  • Develop tools, processes and training to enable Client Success team to implement technical product enhancements with health plan and provider clients and monitor cross-client progress as needed
  • Manage cross-functional project team and ensure effective collaboration, communication and feedback loop with key internal, vendor and executive stakeholders
  • Balance business needs with technical constraints to drive relentlessly towards consensus and action across all internal and vendor stakeholders to meet objectives
  • Build and demonstrate product expertise needed to drive effective coordination and translation between technical and business stakeholders
  • Navigate and adapt to any unexpected events and facilitate change management as needed
  • Provide timely and effective program status updates and escalations to Symphony and IHA management with clear recommendations for corrective action when needed
  • Proactively identify inefficiencies and develop resilient processes to contribute to the development of program management best practices suited for the Symphony Program

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or related field and 7+ years’ experience in technical program management
  • Experience driving at least 3 large scale, complex projects with client deliverables involving a variety of stakeholders
  • Strong familiarity with product and development lifecycle, SAFe, Agile, Waterfall, Scrum and project management methodologies
  • Experience establishing strong relationships across cross-functional teams and technology vendors
  • Experience working with healthcare stakeholders and understanding of the CA healthcare delivery system preferred. Knowledge of provider data management a plus
  • Fluency with platforms including MS Project, JIRA, Tableau, Salesforce, and Microsoft Office 365
  • Highly organized, methodical and proactive, with inclination for polished documentation
  • Affinity for anticipating issues and risks and removing barriers with a sense of urgency
  • Unflappable and decisive problem solver who excels in banishing ambiguity and influencing without direct authority
  • Strong work ethic and preference for working autonomously to drive desired results
  • Proven willingness to get into the details and go above and beyond to achieve goals
  • Thrives in high-paced environments and enjoys juggling multiple projects with exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills including ability to communicate technical concepts between audiences of varying backgrounds
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with demonstrated ability to drive alignment and progress in cross-functional environments
  • Excited to work with a ‘gritty’ team to dig into big, industry-wide challenges
